Ostranauts Hotfix 0.14.0.9 Fixes Station NPC Hypoxia and Teleporting Ships
The latest Ostranauts hotfix addresses critical bugs from the Across the System update, including instant station NPC hypoxia, teleporting derelicts, and unintended police ship undocking. The patch is compatible with existing 0.14 saves.
Blue Bottle Games has released a hotfix for Ostranauts, targeting progression-blocking bugs introduced in the Across the System update. The patch resolves issues causing mass NPC deaths, misplaced ships, and interface scaling errors.
Fixing Mass Station NPC Hypoxia
A bug caused all NPCs on a station or ship to instantly die of hypoxia shortly after the player arrived following a long absence. The issue stemmed from a ticker catch-up process that delayed breathing calculations while processing old stats. The catch-up code now sets delayed tickers aside to prioritize immediate tasks. Additionally, the Privacy ticker no longer updates while the player is away.
Resolving Undocking and Teleportation Bugs
Derelicts no longer teleport 100,000 kilometers away upon undocking, a bug caused by using the wrong time epoch when sampling the position of Ganymed 1036. Police ships also stop unexpectedly undocking and abducting players who interact with their navigation stations while crew members are unconscious.
UI and Interface Corrections
Two interface issues are resolved in this build. Tooltips no longer shrink to unreadable sizes at high screen resolutions, and players can now successfully change keybinds using the Options screen from the main menu.
Why this patch matters
Hotfix 0.14.0.9 provides stability to the recent expansion by fixing simulation loops and navigation glitches that threatened long-running saves.
