No More Room in Hell 2 Update 0.2.4 Adds Firefighter Zombies and Caliber Ammunition
No More Room in Hell 2 update 0.2.4 introduces the Firefighter zombie, caliber-based ammunition, runner adjustments, and new responder skills.
No More Room in Hell 2 update 0.2.4 brings the first batch of gameplay additions for the year. This release features a new zombie variant, caliber-specific ammunition, runner adjustments, and multiple bug fixes ahead of the 0.3.0 update in February.
New Zombie Variant and Caliber Ammunition
The Firefighter zombie joins the roster wearing protective gear and an oxygen tank. Striking the tank in melee combat or shooting it from a distance triggers a leaking gas effect that leads to an air explosion, which knocks down nearby zombies and players. Helmets also make headshots more difficult. Update 0.2.4 replaces shared ammo with caliber-based ammunition. While some weapons like shotguns still share 12GA shells or the Hunter 85 and M14 share rounds, players must manage specific ammo types for their equipped firearms.
Runner Balance and Responder Skills
Runner spawn frequency is reduced based on community feedback, alongside improvements to lunge attacks and climbing behavior. Three new responder skills are available: Outdoor, which cuts fire, water, gas, and electricity damage by 30 percent; Builder, which increases barricade board stack sizes to five and battery stacks; and Antibodies, which lowers infection chances by 50 percent.
HUD and Interface Adjustments
A new default HUD setting provides a less distracting layout based on community feedback. Menu fixes ensure that Mule and Mule Expert grant extra inventory slots on Nightmare difficulty, character skills no longer disappear from the escape menu, and ping keybindings include descriptive text.
Gameplay and Zombie Behavior Fixes
The ununequippable pipe wrench at the Power Plant is removed, and ambient naked zombies on that map now wear clothes. Movement corrections caused by bumping into zombies are eliminated, shambler stretching upon death is fixed, and runners vaulting fences no longer get stuck in cars. Private server toggles, match privacy labels referencing squad instead of party, and door navigation for zombies are corrected.
Why this patch matters
Update 0.2.4 refines core survival mechanics with caliber management and skill additions while smoothing out zombie navigation and runner spawns.
