No More Room in Hell 2 Status Update Addresses Server Lag and Matchmaking
The No More Room in Hell 2 team issued a status update detailing ongoing work to fix server lag, high ping, and poor cloud instance performance. Matchmaking queue parameters have been adjusted globally to prioritize ping.
Following the early access launch of No More Room in Hell 2, the development team has shared a status report focused on server performance, matchmaking issues, and high ping complaints.
Matchmaking and Ping Improvements
Initial matchmaking parameters allowed regions to match together too quickly, leading to bad ping where players were placed in distant servers. Developers adjusted the queue to prioritize matching users based on ping, stopping South American players from being incorrectly routed to North American servers. A subsequent adjustment further refined the queue.
Cloud Server Performance
Players in Asia and US-West experienced poor ping, latency, and gameplay lag because they were placed on cloud instances performing at about half the efficiency of target levels due to a lack of available instances from the server provider. Developers are testing new cloud server instances to resolve slow hit reactions, zombie teleportation, rubber banding, and animation problems.
Upcoming Fixes
A hotfix is currently in preparation to address a broader selection of gameplay and performance issues. Further details regarding the hotfix will be shared once available.
Why this patch matters
The early access release of No More Room in Hell 2 relies on ongoing server-side adjustments to stabilize regional matchmaking and combat persistent lag.
