No More Room in Hell 2 March Update 0.3.1 Adds Loadouts and MP5

No More Room in Hell 2 developer Team Freemankin is preparing update 0.3.1 for March, introducing purchasable responder loadouts, infection tuning, private lobby difficulty settings, and two classic weapons. These additions serve as a bridge to the larger 0.4.0 Reanimation update coming in April.

Following February Nightmare update, Team Freemankin is detailing the upcoming March 0.3.1 patch for No More Room in Hell 2. While the studio primary focus remains on the expansive 0.4.0 Reanimation update slated for April, the March release brings foundational progression changes and quality-of-life adjustments.

Progression and Loadouts

Update 0.3.1 introduces match-earned credits and Responder Loadouts to add depth beyond the game permadeath system. Players can complete objectives to earn credits, which are then used to purchase starting equipment for their characters. This loadout stays with the character for as long as they survive. The developers note that this initial iteration is a foundation that will expand with new content month over month, and all credits are earned through gameplay.

Infection System Overhaul

The mechanics governing the NPV-26 virus are receiving a significant adjustment. Previously, infection only occurred when a zombie grabbed and bit a player. Starting in 0.3.1, any zombie attack can transmit the virus if player health drops below 50 percent. This change increases the value of keeping healthy, managing medical supplies, and locating pills or gene therapy cures.

Private Lobbies and New Weapons

Private lobby hosts gain expanded control options in this update, including the ability to toggle match difficulty, adjust UI settings, and turn dynamic grouping on or off. Two new ranged weapons arrive with the patch: the MP5 submachine gun featuring a built-in flashlight, and the lever-action Rochester 1873 rifle. Both firearms draw inspiration from the original No More Room in Hell.

Why this patch matters

Update 0.3.1 addresses community requests by adding progression depth and raising the stakes for combat encounters.
