Nivalis Nights Update v2 Brings Performance Optimizations and Staff Logic Tweaks
Nivalis Nights Update v2 introduces a new lighting culling system, adjusts staff task priorities to encourage specialization, and implements several bug fixes for storage, UI elements, and graphic settings.
The second update for Nivalis Nights focuses on performance enhancements and addresses community-reported bugs following the previous patch. Developers have added a light culling system, altered how staff members prioritize tasks, and resolved issues relating to save files, UI elements, and venue management.
Staff Task Prioritization
Staff members now follow a rigid task hierarchy designed to encourage specialization. Serving meals takes top priority, followed by processing ingredients, making meals at food processors or drink machines, and taking new orders. Manager roles prioritize delivering ingredients, buying ingredients, and managing complaints. Cleanup tasks for meals, trash, and storage sit at the bottom of the queue. Single-staff venues with too many seats may leave many customers unserved under this system.
Performance and Graphic Settings
A new light culling system improves performance by deactivating lights based on distance from the player. Players can adjust this via a new Lighting Details slider in the graphic settings. The Low setting for texture quality has been removed, automatically upgrading users to Medium, and texture changes now require a confirmation popup with a reload progress bar. Resolution bugs and window-shifting behavior on multi-monitor setups have also been fixed.
Storage, Economy, and Management
Decorative furniture with configured storage or refrigerated storage values now correctly contributes to a venue total storage capacity. The Kitchen Buffet now functions as a storage unit holding 100 normal space and 50 refrigerated space. Meal preparation now utilizes older ingredients first, which reduces rotten food generation but may lower the food freshness rating in customer reviews. Additionally, trash bins in Central Canyon have been relocated closer to player-owned venues to improve cleaner and manager pathing.
Stability and Bug Fixes
Overwriting an existing save no longer destroys the previous save file if an unexpected crash occurs. Fishing rod physics stability is improved, and the treasure fishing spots icon has been replaced. Other fixes resolve a soft-lock caused by cleaning trash already handled by staff, blurry newspapers in the Hive Mall, Odin Pub counters, and crowd characters moving outside navmesh bounds during dialogue.
Why this patch matters
Update v2 delivers technical adjustments and fixes for Nivalis Nights, though players managing single-staff venues must adapt to the stricter task hierarchy.
