Never Sort By Color October 15 Update Adds Walk Mode and Tidy Upgrade
The October 15 update for Never Sort By Color introduces Walk Mode with gravity and jumping, a new Tidy upgrade for bins and drawers, and a complete rebuild of car physics. It also delivers dozens of bug fixes for building models and controls.
Developer Bryan has released an update for Never Sort By Color, headlined by a new Walk Mode, a targeted Tidy upgrade, and revamped vehicle suspension.
Walk Mode, Zoom, and Tidy
Walk Mode joins Free Look and Drone Mode in the Tab rotation, letting players move at human height with gravity, jump, and crouch using E, Q, and C. Players pass through brick piles instead of climbing them. Holding Z, the middle mouse button, or the right stick activates zoom in any mode. A new Tidy upgrade allows players aiming at a bin or drawer to press T or D-pad down to pack matching pieces into tight rows. Labeled bins move non-matching pieces to the label side automatically.
Model Building and Vehicle Overhauls
Clicking multiple drawers while building now feeds models simultaneously, allowing end-game models to complete in 30 seconds. Finished models drop to the floor instead of hovering. Modular buildings snap side by side correctly, and fixes prevent models from getting pushed beneath floors or through walls. The car suspension is rebuilt from scratch to eliminate idle vibration, creep, and camera jitter, while hallway floors and ramps now match their visible boards.
Controls and Quality of Life
Holding Primary now waits half a second before grabbing a second piece to prevent accidental grabs. Throwing a brick at a closed labeled drawer opens it automatically. The update also fixes issues with freezing mouse wheels, disappearing HUD elements, saving cabinets with open drawers, and washed-out feedback screenshots on wide displays.
