Necesse Version 1.1 Update Balances Combat and Adds Wildlife

Necesse Version 1.1 is live with true melee buffs, adjusted Incursion difficulty, settlement group management, and new critters.

Necesse Version 1.1 is now available on Steam, bringing balance adjustments for true melee weapons, modifications to Incursion encounters, and quality-of-life additions for settlement management. Following the 1.0 release, this update focuses primarily on combat pacing and helper features.

True Melee and Incursion Adjustments

True melee weapons receive increased resilience gains, alongside improved resilience trinkets. While developers note this does not completely solve weapon class balance, it aims to make direct melee combat more viable. Incursion content receives health increases combined with lowered enemy damage output. This change is designed to prevent top-tier builds from melting bosses instantly while keeping players from dying in a couple of hits.

Settlement and Adventure Party Management

Managing helpers is faster with the addition of settler search functions by name and role, alongside group assignments. Players can now select specific groups with a single click before heading out on expeditions. Additionally, revived settlers gain a five-second window of damage immunity, and the Clockwork Heart trinket now converts excess potion healing into resilience.

New Quests, Maps, and Wildlife

The world plays host to new friendly creatures, including butterflies, fireflies, cave cropplers, and sharks. The Incursion system expands with three new perk tree choices, three new quests, and unique rewards that include unlocking the eighth trinket slot. New maps are available for the Chieftain, Cursed Chrone, and Sage & Grit, alongside extra recipes for cave rock tiles, walls, and doors.

Why this patch matters

Version 1.1 provides helpful quality-of-life additions and minor combat tuning without shifting the game core meta.
