Necesse Version 0.33 Adds Creative Mode and Over 100 Assets

Necesse Version 0.33 introduces Creative Mode with free building and godlike powers, alongside over 100 new assets, furniture pieces, and upgraded workstations.

Necesse Version 0.33 is live, bringing the long-awaited Creative Mode to singleplayer and multiplayer worlds. The update also introduces more than 100 new assets, ranging from decorative furniture to new cave biomes.

Creative Mode Features

Players can start a new world and select Creative mode to access free building, godlike powers, an eraser tool, blueprint copy-and-paste functions, and a controller pipette bind. A new CreativeSettings permission tier is also available. Players can submit builds in-game for developer review to potentially be included in the world generation for the upcoming Necesse 1.0 release.

New Crafting Stations and Assets

The Carpenter's Bench and Landscaping Station are now upgradeable with Tungsten and Fallen variants, featuring dedicated crafting categories for different wood types and cave biomes. Over 100 assets are added, including bamboo trees, willow and bandit fences, various hedges, stepping stones, plushies, food props, and banners crafted at specific workstations. A new recipe allows players to turn any cooked food into spoiled food via the compost bin.

Quality of Life and Controller Improvements

Weapon damage and crit chance tooltips now accurately include player modifiers and enchantments. Portal Flask home portals now display on the map for owners and team members. Mining and placing objects and tiles run more consistently at high speeds. Doors now automatically rotate toward adjacent walls like fence gates.

Controller and UI Overhauls

Cursor mode for controllers receives significant improvements, displaying dragged items at the cursor, hiding focus highlights when active, and jumping to current control focus. The controller cursor now behaves like a standard cursor to click UI elements using attack or interact buttons. The game now bundles controller configuration files directly instead of using Steam Workshop.

Balance and Bug Fixes

Stabby Bush summons now deal damage exclusively on hit rather than on collision, with a slight buff to damage and explosion hit counts. A bug causing massive unintended damage when combining Companion Locket and Dryad Branch has been fixed. Settlers now navigate complex paths with many doors more reliably, and friendly witches no longer display incorrect recruitment dialogue options.

Why this patch matters

Version 0.33 transforms Necesse building options with Creative Mode, extensive asset additions, and deep controller UI upgrades.
