Necesse Version 0.27 Adds Plains Biome, Husbandry Rework, and New Crops
Necesse update v0.27 introduces the plains surface biome, new animal husbandry mechanics, expanded food recipes, and visual improvements like tile destruction cracks. The update also adjusts mob balancing and fixes numerous bugs.
Necesse version 0.27 is live, bringing a new plains biome, updated animal husbandry rules, and a host of quality-of-life adjustments. Two new artists joined the team for this patch, accelerating the release schedule.
Plains Biome and World Additions
A new plains surface biome and village have been added, alongside birch and maple trees with matching furniture sets, raspberry bushes, and water lanterns. Caves now feature small water streams with bridges, and secret areas have been added to the forest caves, desert caves, and temple biome. Grizzly bears now spawn in forest caves, and the Evil's Protector has a low chance to drop an Eye in a Portal.
Animal Husbandry and Village Changes
Husbandry has been reworked to require one animal of each gender for reproduction, and the traveling merchant can now spawn with animals for sale. Animals in NPC villages must now be purchased to bring to your island, and attacking them will provoke village residents. Rams, bulls, boars, and chickens have been added as new husbandry animals.
Items, Combat, and Balancing
Item stack sizes for logs, ores, and tiles have been increased. The Stabby Bush mob no longer attacks settlers unprovoked, has reduced attack and movement speed per frenzy stack, and its summons now explode after fewer hits for less damage. Most tiles and objects now display cracks as they take damage, and explosive range has been increased while edge damage to objects and tiles was decreased.
Bug Fixes and Interface
Banners now display correctly with specific helmets, hair color selection is visible when bald, and high-attack-speed weapons are no longer limited by game tick rate. The update also fixes shields disappearing when holding a banner, quest data loss during backups, and inventory slot blurriness.
Why this patch matters
Version 0.27 expands exploration with the plains biome and deepens farming systems while smoothing out combat quirks and visual bugs.
