Necesse Update v0.30 Adds Cave Hazards, Buff Staves, and Hoverboard Dash

Necesse version 0.30 introduces environmental hazards to snow, swamp, and desert caves alongside four cooperative buff staves and mobility adjustments. The update also adds new crops, crafting recipes, and weapon adjustments.

Necesse version 0.30 is live, bringing mechanical changes to exploration, traversal, and cooperative support roles. The update focuses on reducing repetition during cave runs by adding specific hazards to underground biomes and introducing new support items for players and settlers.

Biome Hazards and Survival Additions

Snow caves now spawn frozen groups of enemies. Desert caves feature quicksand pools, while swamp caves contain swamp spores and poison clouds. To help players survive these underground runs, the update adds a new Cave Croppler critter, the Beet crop, and two new food recipes. Additionally, miners stew requires beets and has received a stat buff.

Support Staves for Co-op and Settlers

Four new staves designed to buff allies are now available for cooperative play or for equipping to settlers. The Sapphire Staff is crafted at the Iron Anvil, the Amethyst Staff at the Demonic Anvil, and both the Emerald Staff and Ruby Staff are crafted at the Tungsten Anvil.

Traversal and Equipment Adjustments

The Hoverboard gains a dash ability and a slight increase to its maximum speed. Conversely, the Witch Broom receives a slight reduction to its maximum speed. The Sapphire Revolver gains increased damage and attack speed, while small crystal clusters now drop gems more frequently.

Crafting and Bug Fixes

Several gravel tiles and sandstone gravel tile recipes are now available at the workstation, with crystal gravel tile recipes added to the landscaping station. Fixes resolve an issue where thrown bombs failed to explode after changing levels, corrected logic gate wire outputs, and fixed swapped names for storage configurations.

Version 0.30 changes cave exploration with environmental threats while expanding cooperative support options through craftable buff staves and mobility tweaks.
