Fair Games has launched the Secrets update for Necesse, introducing hidden items, developer secrets, and crossover content from Palworld, Rimworld, Core Keeper, and Valheim. Existing worlds do not require a restart, though players must explore uncharted areas to find the new additions.
Crossover Content and Exploration
The update scatters hidden references and collaborations throughout the world. Players can find a Pal from Palworld, a friend from Valheim, a structure from Core Keeper, and a creature from Rimworld. Swamp Caves now contain Ancient Roots, which can also be crafted as tiles at the Tungsten Landscaping Station. Additional additions include the Tracker Potion, Jail Fence, Shark Meat, and Shark Fillet, alongside health upgrade tooltips that indicate whether an upgrade has already been consumed.
Incursion Tree and Combat Adjustments
Two new perks join the Incursion Tree: Are you not entertained?, which clears and lights a large arena, and All the buffs!, which grants all Banner buffs. The A New Hope perk is now tier 6 instead of tier 7. Sword dashes now grant resilience on hit, and Crystal Shield retaliation damage now equals twice the pre-mitigation damage taken. Incursion cavelings have lower health and movement speed. Reanimation Bows now summon a baby skeleton instead of a regular skeleton, while settlers and summons are more accurate against worm enemies.
Settlement and Item Quality of Life
Settlers now retain their configured settings after being downed and revived. Revival Potions fit inside the Potion Pouch, and Pig Statue crafting costs are lower. Birch and maple sapling textures now accurately reflect leaf colors, while the Creative items tab displays all item categories by default.
Bug Fixes
The patch resolves numerous issues, including a crash when opening the journal with an unselected treasure entry, Arcanic Crates not counting toward the Complete Collector achievement, and desynced character items. Audio fixes address loud Sunlight Orb sound effects in multiplayer and incorrect net sound effects during swings. Visual and collision fixes target Brutes Battleaxe hitboxes, Mother Slime and Ascended Wizard shockwaves, and Lava Path tile alignment.
Why this patch matters
The Secrets update delivers a batch of crossovers and quality-of-life adjustments.
