Necesse Graphics Update Patch Notes
Necesse receives a massive graphics overhaul with over 3,200 reworked assets, smooth lighting, new character customization options, and settler behaviors.
The Necesse Graphics Update is live, bringing a complete visual overhaul after over a year of development alongside new features, settler behaviors, and interface improvements.
Visual Overhaul and Assets
Over 3,200 assets have been reworked to fit the new art style. Water rendering now features gradual depths, and rocks, walls, and minimap objects feature smooth lighting and updated colors. A new scaling shader makes pixels less blurry when zoomed in, and hair now displays properly under many hats and helmets.
Settler Improvements
Settlers can now spawn with varied genders, hairstyles, and skin colors. They will sit down on chairs and benches to eat and shorten their work breaks, walk around while holding hauled items, and utilize banners if manually given one. Banner stands now buff all settlers in range, and Strike Banners can be found in village chests.
Character Customization and Additions
Added 16 new achievements, 20 hairstyles, 12 eye types, and 8 beard types. Players can now change skin color and eyes at the Stylist for void shards. New items include the Landscaping Station, expression wheel via holding T, a screenshot tool, and various cosmetic gear pieces available from the Blacksmith and Stylist.
World and Interface Changes
The control settings UI, host world UI, character creator, and stylist interfaces are completely reworked. Fences now connect to cave rocks, flowers can be placed as wild decorations, and the Zephyr Boots no longer disable the Zephyr Charm trinket. Talking to the elder now goes straight to quests if ready for completion.
Why this patch matters
The Graphics Update modernizes Necesse's entire visual presentation while introducing quality-of-life additions that improve settlement management and character styling.
