Mythfall Patch v0.1.0 Moves the Game to Alpha
Mythfall transitions to its alpha testing period with Patch v0.1.0, bringing server-side death sync improvements, mob AI updates, and preparation for a Steam playtest. The patch also introduces a scrollwheel zoom toggle and fixes multiple interaction bugs.
Mythfall moves from pre-alpha to alpha testing with Patch v0.1.0. Alongside preparations for an upcoming Steam playtest application for supporters and the general public, the update addresses several quality-of-life issues and server communication delays.
Combat and Character Responses
Player death animations now trigger immediately without waiting for server confirmation, removing the previous delay. A bug where players could consume healing items or trigger regeneration during the final frames of death is resolved. This fix ensures health bars do not visually bounce back to positive values after a fatal hit. Additionally, mob AI logic is updated for better reliability and easier expansion, though boss fights may experience unintended bugs.
Settings and Web Controls
Players can now disable character zoom using the mouse scrollwheel via a new settings toggle. For users playing the web build, entering fullscreen requires pressing the F11 key to prevent the escape key from exiting fullscreen mode.
Bug Fixes
The update fixes an issue where reducing the game window size to zero corrupted camera behavior. A separate bug that caused chest and portal entrances to spawn at identical locations is also corrected.
Why this patch matters
Patch v0.1.0 lays the technical groundwork for Mythfall's upcoming public Steam playtest while cleaning up fundamental server-client sync and input issues.
