Manala: Equinox War Demo Update Replaces Placeholder Art and Adjusts Scope
The Manala: Equinox War Steam demo replaces its placeholder art with real assets and real-world terrain data. The update also reduces the overall demo scope while expanding player camps.
A new update for the Manala: Equinox War Steam demo replaces placeholder art assets with real room backgrounds, camp environments, and non-player character designs. The patch also updates the game terrain using orthophotos and landscape data sourced directly from the area where the inspiring LARP takes place.
Visuals and World Design
All placeholder genAI visuals are gone, replaced by finished art for rooms, camps, and NPCs. Terrain now relies on real-world orthophotos and landscape data from the real-world LARP location. Mouse cursors are also replaced, and duel locations move from the defender's room to the hillside of the Fort.
Demo Scope and Navigation
The demo drops from 18 accessible areas down to 3. Despite this reduction in regions, the total room count only drops by about 33 percent because player camps are now larger. An updated in-game navigation map provides a clearer overview of player location, and an improved camp tour introduces first-time players to the world.
Why this patch matters
This update swaps out temporary assets for finished art and scales the demo down to a tighter, more focused slice of the game.
