inZOI Update v0.4.0 Adds Halloween Events, Ghosts, and 48-Minute Days
inZOI version 0.4.0 introduces seasonal Halloween activities, ghost gameplay after death, funeral properties, and a default 48-minute day cycle. The update also overhauls the Zoi mentality system, adds loan pressure mechanics, and expands character customization options.
inZOI version 0.4.0 transforms the simulation with seasonal Halloween events, ghostly post-life mechanics, and a reworked daily rhythm. Players can now farm pumpkins, fish for ghost creatures, attend funerals, and navigate overhauled trait and mentality systems.
Halloween Content and Ghost States
Players can farm pumpkins, craft jack-o'-lantern headgear and decorations, cook three new pumpkin recipes, and catch five rare ghost fish between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Placing Halloween items on properties triggers nightly trick-or-treat visits from children. After death, Zois can now continue playing for three days as ghosts with special skills, leading to ascensions or funerals held at newly added cemeteries, funeral homes, and columbariums.
48-Minute Days and Mentality Overhaul
The default day length is now set to 48 minutes, restructuring needs and interactions to match a more natural daily flow. Zois wake up at realistic hours after late nights, and nap durations are adjusted. Traits have been streamlined, adding new options like Troublemaker, Recluse, and Rulebreaker alongside 15 new characteristics. Ambitions are now player-selected during creation, and over 140 new urges have been integrated based on situational contexts.
Relationships and Social Interactions
Family interactions now include infant care and reprimanding children. Zois can propose living together or separating with roommates, lovers, and family members. New teen romance options include studying together, sharing earphones, and writing secret love letters. Additional social events feature blind dates, group studies, fitness clubs, and unexpected burglar break-ins.
Loan Pressures and Career Changes
Overdue loans now trigger text message warnings that can spread to family and friends, impacting relationships. Players can tackle side-job rabbit hole events for extra cash or clear debts immediately using computers and smartphones. A total of 144 new career opportunity cards have been added for jobs in Dowon and Bliss Bay.
Customization, Building, and Simulation
The update brings over 100 new character customization items, makeup presets, and motion animations. Build mode gains 120 new items, a smart snap feature, and an experimental AI build tool for generating structures via text descriptions, alongside roughly 30 customizable special effects items like fire and smoke.
