inZOI Retires City Immigration, Overhauls Autonomy, and Reschedules Prison Content

inZOI developers announce the removal of City Immigration in favor of City Travel, delay prison content for system overhauls, and detail October autonomy improvements.

The inZOI team has shared major design updates regarding city travel mechanics, upcoming autonomy improvements, and shifts in content scheduling for future updates.

City Travel Replaces City Immigration

The development team is removing the City Immigration feature introduced with the Cahaya DLC due to complex errors. It will be replaced by City Travel, allowing Zois to join schedules and parties across different cities seamlessly. When City Immigration is removed, duplicate homes owned through the system will be sold automatically, proceeds will be returned to the player, and the properties will be saved as presets. Future updates will introduce an official asset system for owning multiple homes.

Prison Content Postponed

Planned prison and crime features for Active Mode are pushed back. Developers determined that underlying game systems require a comprehensive overhaul before criminal mechanics can be integrated properly across the game's various city themes.

Expansion Through New Cities

Future content will focus primarily on adding new cities rather than trying to retrofit every new concept into existing locations like Dowon, Bliss Bay, and Cahaya. Through City Travel, Zois from any home city will be able to visit and experience the distinct atmospheres and specialized content offered in new regions.

October Autonomy and NPC Refinements

The October mini-update targets autonomy improvements, ensuring business customers use guest areas while employees utilize staff tools. Starting families across each city are receiving refreshed relationships, backstories, careers, and visual designs to make encountering NPCs more engaging.

Why this patch matters

By shifting from restrictive immigration mechanics to flexible city travel and refocusing expansion efforts on dedicated new locations, the development team is streamlining the game's core architecture.
