Hunt: Showdown 1896 Update 2.2 Brings Lawson Delta Map Overhaul and New Gear

Update 2.2 revitalizes Hunt: Showdown 1896 with the remastered Lawson Delta map, a suite of new silenced and repeating weapons, and major adjustments to Dark Sight mechanics. The patch also introduces custom equipment animations and streamlined progression rewards.

Hunt: Showdown 1896 receives new content in Update 2.2, anchored by the return of the redesigned Lawson Delta map on CRYENGINE 5.11. Players also get access to several new weapons, economy rebalances, and foundational combat tweaks.

Lawson Delta Map Remaster

The Lawson Delta map returns with terrain and vegetation improvements powered by CRYENGINE 5.11. Compounds such as Wolfshead Arsenal, Iron Works, Nicholls Prison, Salter's Pork, and Bradley & Craven Brickworks feature refined layouts with new windows, ladders, doors, and pathways to create tactical choices for both attackers and defenders.

New Weapons and Subsonic Ammo

The arsenal expands with the Chu Ko Nu medium slot repeating crossbow, the 1865 Carbine Aperture, the Krag Silencer, the Maynard Sniper Silencer, and the Sparks Pistol Silencer. A new Subsonic Ammo type arrives for multiple weapon families, reducing muzzle velocity by roughly 15% but increasing extra ammo capacity by 20% while keeping gunshots quieter. Additionally, the Recovery Shot consumable allows players to restore one previously lost empty health chunk mid-mission.

Dark Sight and Gunplay Adjustments

Dark Sight Boost mechanics change so players can earn boosts from sources like sealed rewards or the Fortune Teller Machine even without holding a bounty token, though doing so leaves a visible scorch mark on the map. Activating Dark Sight Boost is now mapped to RMB, L2, or LT by default. Trade windows feature a new 75ms timeout for shots rejected after the shooter dies. Recoil, spread, and scope glare are reduced across various weapons, and Contraband scopes are now always in mint condition.

Custom Animations and Scarce Ammo

Players can inspect weapons with dedicated Equipment Animations, overriding default inspect motions with custom tricks unlocked through inventory actions. Meanwhile, Custom Ammo Scarcity is introduced, marking select ammunition types like Dolch and Centennial Dumdum as scarce, removing them from direct purchase while keeping them obtainable in-mission.

Progression and Trait Reworks

Hunter progression expands to let players unlock new tiers for reaching Level 50, progressing through Rookie, Survivor, and Veteran stages. Bloodline ranks for key traits like Lightfoot, Ghoul, and Frontiersman are adjusted. Trait prices for Frontiersman, Pitcher, and Silent Killer are lowered, and the Surefoot trait moves from event status into the regular trait pool.

Why this patch matters

Update 2.2 shakes up the meta with map refreshes, quieter ammunition options, and economic shifts that reward map knowledge and tactical loadout planning.
