Hunt: Showdown 1896 Update 2.2.2 Adds New Weapons and Ammo
Hunt: Showdown 1896 receives Update 2.2.2, introducing new gear variants, custom ammo types, and a refreshed set of weekly challenges alongside several bug fixes.
Update 2.2.2 is live for Hunt: Showdown 1896. The patch expands the arsenal with multiple new weapons, variants, and custom ammo additions, alongside fixes for audio bugs, localization text overlaps, and broken challenge progress.
New Weapons and Progression Unlocks
Several new items join the game progression. The 1865 Carbine Aperture arrives as the second unlock in its family. The Maynard Sniper Silencer is the second unlock in the Maynard family, while the Krag Silencer is the fourth unlock in the Krag family. The Chu Ko Nu and the Recovery Shot consumable are both unlocked at Bloodline Rank 1. The Sparks Pistol Silencer sits as the fifth unlock in the Sparks family. Finally, the Chu Ko Nu gets two new custom ammo types at Bloodline Rank 1: Explosive Bolts and Incendiary Bolts.
Challenges and Audio Fixes
Weekly challenge sets have been updated. The patch also resolves a progression block for the Make Hunters Bleed weekly challenge, which previously failed to track headshots landed with the Shredder, Centennial, or Scottfield. An audio bug where purchase confirmation sounds became stuck if players canceled a Bloodline purchase while holding down the Yes button or space bar has been removed.
Localization and Weapon Animation Corrections
Text overlap issues in French, Japanese, Polish, and German languages are resolved. This includes fixes for the descriptions of Jesse Buchanan: Survivor and Oliver Whitman: Survivor in French, and the Ambrose Hazen: Veteran hunter description in Japanese, Polish, and German. Additionally, a reload bug for the Specter shotgun that played an incorrect final chambering sound on an empty reload is fixed.
Why this patch matters
Update 2.2.2 provides a straightforward batch of weapon variants, custom ammo types, and necessary fixes for broken challenge tracking and UI text overlaps.
