Hunt: Showdown 1896 Update 2.2.1 Overhauls Bounty Clash AI and VOIP
Update 2.2.1 for Hunt: Showdown 1896 scales back AI density in Bounty Clash while overhauling voice chat controls and squashing exploits. The patch lowers self-inflicted melee damage from stuck projectiles and fixes various crash triggers.
Hunt: Showdown 1896 receives an update targeting Bounty Clash pacing, team communications, and combat bugs. Update 2.2.1 trims down the monster population while making fixes to weapon interactions and menu options.
Bounty Clash AI Adjustments
Bounty Clash sees major spawn changes. Immolators, Hives, Meatheads, and Hellhounds no longer spawn, replaced by Grunts inside compounds. Overall AI spawn rates are lower.
Combat and Trait Tweaks
Pulling stuck projectiles out of the upper torso now deals 14 damage down from 70, with reductions for other body parts. The Blademancer trait is less effective but remains an option for finishing low-health targets. Choke bolts no longer trigger Immolator explosions on direct hits, and the Serpent trait maintains a 25-meter range in teams and 50 meters while solo. An exploit where water failed to slow down players revived by a revive bolt is resolved.
VOIP Controls and UI
Team communications now function during all and proximity chat. The muted mic icon remains visible instead of auto-hiding, and the game respects chosen muted states when joining matches. A new toggle state differentiates continuous and toggle behavior. Stalling issues related to the mute function and menu input options are fixed.
Bug Fixes and Stability
The patch resolves rare crashes and freezes, along with various hunter and equipment animation skipping issues. The US flag in Wolfshead Arsenal shows 45 stars instead of 50. Frag shredders dealing zero damage on mud, unpurchaseable bundle charms, and floating dead Ursa Mortis bodies are fixed.
Why this patch matters
Update 2.2.1 makes Bounty Clash encounters more predictable by removing heavy AI types and addresses voice chat and projectile damage issues.
