Good Heavens! Demo v0.3.23 Adds Map System, World Generation, and UI Overhauls

The latest Good Heavens! demo update brings a fog-of-war map, deeper biome zone generation, new random encounters, and extensive inventory and combat quality-of-life adjustments.

Good Heavens! has received a substantial update for its demo, arriving alongside a regional event showcase. Version v0.3.23 focuses heavily on exploration features, world structure, and inventory management.

Exploration and World Generation

A new map feature replaces guesswork with a fog-of-war system that clears as players explore the island, marking key points of interest, cities, and resources. Behind the scenes, the world generation has been split into distinct hidden zones within each biome, altering how creatures and resources distribute. Alongside these structural changes, new points of interest feature random encounters like nudist elves, BDSM vampires, and a drunk orc, alongside a portal-filled maze dungeon.

Inventory, UI, and Combat Tweaks

Inventory management receives a major upgrade with quick-dump controls and the ability to split stacks using modifier keys. Players can now track up to three active quests on the HUD, skip dialogue with a single button, and pin specific crafting recipes. Combat fluidity improves with the addition of attack animation cancelling, allowing players to move immediately after a successful hit. Additionally, tool interactions have been refined with mandatory tool requirements for tasks like chopping or mining, supported by new error messaging.

Why this patch matters

Version v0.3.23 addresses several foundational friction points in Good Heavens!, making exploration and resource gathering much smoother while adding early content to flesh out the world.
