Fields of Mistria Second Major Update Adds Lava Caves and Pets
Fields of Mistria deploys its second major update, adding the Lava Caves biome, Deep Woods, pet companions, and animal festival celebrations. The patch also introduces automation statues, new skill perks, and quality-of-life adjustments requested by the community.
Fields of Mistria has released its second major update, expanding the game with subterranean biomes, collectible pets, and extensive town enhancements. Alongside brand-new progression paths and museum wings, the patch incorporates community feedback to streamline farming, fishing, and animal care.
New Biomes and Exploration
Mine floors 61 through 80 now comprise the Lava Caves biome, featuring new monsters, forageables, fish, artifacts, and the Breaking the Fire Seal questline. Completing this quest unlocks the Deep Woods area, complete with its own forageables and a teleportation link to your farm. The renown level cap has also been raised to Level 90, introducing diamond rank rewards alongside new crown requests.
Pets, Animals, and Automation
Players can complete the Pet Dream cutscene to adopt and assign pets jobs to collect wood, stone, and forageables. Water Sprite Statues and Animal Sprite Statues can now be powered by Essence Stones to automatically water nearby crops and serenade animals. Additionally, the Animal Festival arrives on Winter 10th, letting players enter large and small animals for cosmetic prizes.
Crafting, Skills, and Quality of Life
Nine new Tier 4 skill perks are now available across blacksmithing, mining, cooking, archaeology, and fishing. A stone refinery town repair questline unlocks a mining storage chest and the Teleportation Chalice. Accessibility settings now include game time adjustments allowing standard, longer, or longest days. Crafting menus feature a new automation section, and dive spots now grant fishing experience.
Bug Fixes and v0.13.1 Hotfix
The update resolves numerous community-reported issues, including camera snags, pathing breaks during room transitions, and storage crash bugs. A follow-up v0.13.1 patch addresses higher-priority issues such as pet customization soft locks, Elsie gossip filter errors, and stability crashes during barn removals or the Shooting Star Festival.
