False Hero v26.10.1 Patch Adjusts Projectile Focus and Adds Flask Shards

The latest False Hero update modifies projectile Focus regeneration to prevent long-distance cheese while buffing close-range combat. It also introduces four hidden Flask shards to ease late-game difficulty and adds an automatic save backup system.

False Hero patch v26.10.1 is live, bringing significant combat rebalancing, quality-of-life additions, and bug fixes. The update tackles long-range projectile spam by scaling Focus regeneration based on travel distance, while raising overall Focus recovery for close-range combat. It also addresses player feedback regarding endgame difficulty by scattering four optional Flask shards across the world.

Combat Rebalancing and Focus Rework

Projectiles no longer regenerate standard Focus at all ranges. Instead, Focus regain scales down the further a projectile travels, matching the existing damage and stagger decay systems. With this system in place, baseline Focus recovery for most projectile Combat Arts receives substantial buffs. Book Throw increases from 10% to 25%, Flamethrower jumps from 0% to 30%, Rock Throw goes from 0% to 70%, and Pure Light of Hope moves from 9% to 54%. Other adjusted skills include Living Hands, Toxic Retch, Shattering Step, Chaotic Swings, Blood Orb, Corpse Barrage, Radiant Beam, Blood Wave, Deathly Discharge, and Red Flame Cannon.

Flask Shards and Endgame Progression

To give players more room to learn challenging encounters without lowering boss health or damage, four Flask shards are now hidden throughout the world. Collecting two shards increases maximum Flask capacity by one, allowing players to carry up to six Flasks. Shards are located in the swamp area near the Fallen Paradise Bloodspring, the machine workshop by the Prison of Death Bloodspring, near the dragon shrine at the Temple of Hope Bloodspring, and in a room at the Root of the Red Flame Bloodspring.

Difficulty Adjustments

Easy and Very Easy difficulty settings receive direct tuning. On Easy, damage taken drops from 75% to 72% and damage dealt rises from 110% to 113%. On Very Easy, damage dealt jumps from 130% to 150%, stagger damage dealt increases from 120% to 130%, and enemies now wait a minimum of 0.8 seconds between combo strings. Additionally, the minimum Red-Flame-Parry angle increases slightly, and poison build-up time before the first damage tick is delayed when entering poison-water or blood-pools.

Quality of Life and Navigation

The Combat Art menu now displays a stat block for Focus regain, letting players view exact values for successful attacks. Elevator speeds are increased across the board, and the poison screen effect intensity is reduced. In the Decrepit Village, hard-to-see fences and walls are removed to improve navigation. The camera now automatically centers on the True Angel after its phase-swap cutscene, and Apostle of Death projectiles feature a new white glow alongside a reduced tentacle hitbox size.

Save Protection and Bug Fixes

An automatic savefile backup system now generates a fallback file to prevent total progression loss if a crash corrupts current saves. The patch also resolves critical progression blockers, including a bug where crashing immediately after defeating a boss locked players out of obtaining its Combat Art. Other fixes address incorrect multi-hit stagger numbers in upgrade menus, duplicate Pumping Carcass armor drops in NG+, and audio mirroring in Mirror Mode.

Why this patch matters

Patch v26.10.1 successfully bridges the gap between challenge and fairness in False Hero, curbing exploit potential while giving players practical tools to manage its demanding endgame.
