Dune: Awakening Hotfix 1.5.3.6 Adds Optional BattlEye Launch

Dune: Awakening hotfix 1.5.3.6 lets Steam players launch the game without BattlEye for single-player and private servers. The update also improves stability, fixes autosave recovery, and corrects ornithopter spawn heights.

Funcom has released Dune: Awakening hotfix 1.5.3.6, introducing an option to bypass BattlEye anti-cheat for single-player sessions and private servers. The update requires a client-side download on Steam and server restarts.

BattlEye Launch Options

Steam players can now launch the game without BattlEye installed or enabled when playing single-player or on private and self-hosted servers that do not require it. BattlEye remains mandatory for official multiplayer servers, and attempting to join those servers without it active triggers an error.

Stability and Vehicle Fixes

The hotfix includes general improvements to server and client stability. It fixes an issue that caused autosave recovery to fail and resolves a bug where ornithopters spawned in the air instead of on the ground when traveling to Hagga Basin or the Deep Desert from the Overland Map in single-player.

Why this patch matters

Hotfix 1.5.3.6 gives offline and private server players more flexibility with anti-cheat software while ironing out vehicle spawns and save recovery failures.
