Dune: Awakening Benchmark and Character Creator Update Fixes Visual Glitches

The latest Dune: Awakening update addresses various visual bugs in the character creator, fixes video settings locks, and adds social media links to the main menu. Players can now use default window modes and adjust settings properly.

Developer Funcom released a technical patch for Dune: Awakening focused on cleaning up character creation visuals, correcting locked video settings, and resolving benchmark menu oversights.

Character Creator Adjustments

The patch eliminates flickering shadows on the default character model in the main menu and corrects eye materials that caused irises to appear luminous. Face normal maps no longer create mouth irregularities, and the mouth height slider is fixed so it is no longer inverted. Hair simulation clipping is resolved for the Bob, Textured Quiff, Braided Bob, 20s Bob Cut, and Wavy Chic Bob styles. Additionally, face tattoos appear correctly without skewing, the Vortex Stripe tattoo is updated, and preset characters no longer default to maximum opacity for makeup.

Settings and Menu Fixes

Default window modes no longer start empty. Video settings for ultra, high, medium, and low presets are unlocked, preventing them from staying stuck. The patch removes an unintended keybinds shortcut from the benchmark results screen and places social media links on the main menu.

Why this patch matters

This minor update provides quality-of-life fixes for settings locks and character appearance bugs.
