Dota 2 Update Fixes Client Crashes, Ward Quickcast, and Nest of Thorns

Valve has released a Dota 2 update addressing client and server crashes, ward Quickcast settings, and multiple bug fixes for the Nest of Thorns mode. The patch also enables Kez's Sai abilities in Ability Draft.

Valve has deployed a round of bug fixes and adjustments for Dota 2, tackling configuration issues, visual errors, and stability crashes across the client and server. The update also brings changes to Kez in Ability Draft and permanent rewards for higher difficulties in Nest of Thorns.

Client Stability and Settings

Players can now properly configure Quickcast behavior for Observer and Sentry wards in the Settings menu. The patch fixes lighting issues on the seasonal winter terrain, corrects loading spinners, and resolves a bug where Force Staff tooltips ended with two periods. Event sprays that have ended now render properly, Watcher colors match their teams correctly under all circumstances, and various client and server crashes are resolved.

Hero and Ability Fixes

Razor's Voidstorm Asylum Arcana now uses the correct icon for Storm Surge. Shadow Fiend's Presence of the Dark Lord correctly loses stacks on death. Kez's Sai abilities are now enabled in Ability Draft, displaying a random combination of Katana and Sai abilities on the draft screen.

Crownfall and Nest of Thorns Adjustments

In Crownfall, heroes with reward tokens linked to meta-progression upgrades now appear under the Act IV filter on the Hero pick screen, and the Nest of Thorns Loading Screen is now visible. For Nest of Thorns, difficulty rewards for voicelines at levels 3, 5, and 7 are permanent. The Reaper on difficulty 5 and above has improved visibility. Spirits now ignore range modifiers and spawn at a set distance. The update fixes score tracking errors, incorrect text on invalid language client launches, Rot's Scepter obscuring visual elements, and Echo Slash and Swashbuckle failing to work correctly on Linux.

Why this patch matters

This maintenance patch cleans up interface bugs, fixes Linux inputs for custom modes, and stabilizes client performance.
