Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.2 Brings Car Customization, Photo Mode Overhaul, and Ten New Vehicles

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.2 expands vehicle ownership and visual expression across Night City. Players can now repaint cars with CrystalCoat and TWINTONE tech, buy ten requested vehicles on Autofixer, and use a major Photo Mode overhaul.

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.2 arrives with major additions to vehicle customization, photo tooling, and character creation options. CD Projekt Red's latest patch lets players paint previously locked car brands, purchase heavily requested street vehicles, and snap photos with a completely rebuilt camera system.

Vehicle Customization and New Autofixer Stock

Rayfield's CrystalCoat technology expands to Herrera, Mizutani, Quadra, and Villefort vehicles, letting drivers change paint jobs on the fly. Kiroshi optics introduce the TWINTONE feature, which scans and copies color schemes from other vehicles for a small fee. Autofixer adds ten heavily requested rides to the streets of Night City, including the Mizutani Shion MZ1, Thorton Galena GA32t, and Quadra Type-66 640 TS. Players can also rebind the W and S keys for vehicle controls on PC.

Photo Mode and Gallery Overhaul

Photo Mode receives a major rewrite with a free-roaming drone camera, increased range, collision toggles, and precise aiming options. The update adds a character tab that lets players spawn up to three NPCs with custom poses and expressions, alongside a lighting tab for custom light sources. Snapshots can now be displayed in-game inside V's apartments using Kiroshi SmartFrames and browsed through a new Gallery menu tab.

Character Creator and World Additions

Character creation gains 32 eye colors, 18 lip makeup types, 17 nail colors, and multiple new tattoo, scar, and cyberware options. The creator randomizer features a new Plain-to-Punk slider to balance casual and edgy styles. Following Act 1, Johnny Silverhand will now occasionally appear in the passenger seat to react while V drives. PC players on Intel Arrow Lake CPUs also see threading optimizations that improve performance by up to 33 percent.

Quest and Combat Bug Fixes

Several quest progression blocks are resolved, including issues in Cyberpsycho Sighting: Where the Bodies Hit the Floor, Dream On, and Phantom Liberty missions like Firestarter and Run This Town. Gameplay adjustments ensure katana finishers properly decapitate enemies, iconic quickhacks correctly benefit from RAM cost reductions, and Synaptic Accelerator no longer stays active indefinitely out of combat.

Why this patch matters

Update 2.2 delivers long-requested quality-of-life upgrades and personalization tools, making Night City feel noticeably more flexible for players who enjoy roleplaying and photography.
