Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.21 Adds DLSS 4 Support and Photo Mode Fixes
Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.21 brings DLSS 4 support with Multi Frame Generation for RTX 50 series cards alongside extensive Photo Mode corrections.
Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.21 arrives with hardware upgrades for PC players and dozens of bug fixes for Photo Mode, character creation, and quests. The release adds support for advanced upscaling technology alongside general stability work across Night City.
PC Performance and DLSS 4
PC players using GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards gain support for DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, utilizing AI to boost framerates. RTX 40 and 50 series cards also receive faster single Frame Generation with reduced memory usage. All GeForce RTX owners can now switch between the CNN model and a new Transformer model for DLSS Ray Reconstruction, Super Resolution, and DLAA to improve motion stability, lighting, and detail. Additional fixes clear up artifacts on in-game screens when using DLSS Ray Reconstruction and reset the Frame Generation field properly when Resolution Scaling is disabled.
Photo Mode Corrections
Photo Mode receives a wide sweep of technical fixes. Characters like Nibbles and Adam Smasher can now spawn while V is in the air or water without snapping to the ground. Preset loading issues that caused phantom light sources, incorrect camera placements, or frozen UI elements are resolved. Adjusting V's position sliders, rotating with active backgrounds, and toggling chromatic aberration now function as intended. Wardrobe and stash menus will no longer freeze the game if opened simultaneously with Photo Mode.
Character Creation and Customization
Character creation settings no longer wipe randomizer choices when advancing to the attribute customization step. Piercing color options now correctly appear after enabling piercings on characters who started without them. CrystalCoat vehicle color customization receives texture fixes, and missing tutorial icons for spray paint are restored.
Quests and World Fixes
Progression blockers in quests like Run This Town are resolved, preventing issues where the Aguilar imprint could not be deactivated after meeting Bennett. Johnny Silverhand no longer appears in duplicate passenger seats or fails to appear frequently enough during relevant missions. Minor audio adjustments fix quiet or missing voiceovers on TV news channels, and the Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech now displays its unique description.
Why this patch matters
Patch 2.21 provides a foundational update for high-end PC hardware while neatly cleaning up nagging UI and Photo Mode bugs.
