Crimson Moon Hotfix 1.0.2 Fixes Saves, Co-Op, and Boss Encounters
Team Metal deploys a massive hotfix for Crimson Moon that tackles save stability, co-op progression blockers, and dozens of combat bugs. The update also adds auto-pickup for Gold and clarifies status effects.
Team Metal has released Hotfix 1.0.2 for Crimson Moon across all platforms. This update arrives as the game's largest patch to date, containing hundreds of fixes targeting save data integrity, multiplayer connectivity, camera behavior, and combat balance. Developers note that while these changes improve save stability, a larger rework of the save system is planned for Patch 1.1.
Save Data and Progression Security
Hotfix 1.0.2 addresses multiple issues where progress, Boons, and consumable unlocks incorrectly carried over between separate save files. The save overwrite confirmation screen now defaults to the safer No option and correctly identifies the target save file. Additionally, the game no longer runs behind system save prompts, and the frequency of save upload warnings on Xbox has been reduced.
Cooperative Play and Multiplayer Fixes
Co-op sessions see significant stability improvements, including fixes for Quickplay, join errors, and crossplay friend requests. Clients can now successfully collect Lore Scrolls to progress related quests, and regional quest items no longer count twice toward multiplayer objectives. The update also resolves issues where co-op clients could deal reduced damage until killed and revived, lose two-handed parry abilities after weapon swapping, or spawn with base gear instead of their equipped loadouts.
Combat, Enemies, and Boss Adjustments
Clear the Area objectives are now more reliable, preventing enemies from failing to spawn or getting stuck in out-of-the-way locations like Forsaken Streets. Bosses now display a distinct red invulnerability visual during phase transitions. The update also fixes specific combat bugs, such as Mahkteah occasionally stopping damage output and Burning effects healing players instead of damaging them.
Boons, Weapon Arts, and Interface
Numerous Boon and Weapon Art discrepancies are resolved, including functional fixes for Angelic Bulwark, Brewmaster, and Aftershock Technique. Avenging Pestilence no longer allows players to poison enemies mid-cast without consuming mana or dealing double damage. On the interface side, Gold and loot pickups are improved with a new auto-pickup setting for Gold, and item tooltips now clearly explain status effects such as Tempo, Poisoned, Freeze, Marked, and Sundered.
Why this patch matters
Hotfix 1.0.2 is a necessary stabilization patch that corrects foundational bugs in Crimson Moon, though players should still exercise caution with cross-device save files until the planned October rework.
