Counter-Strike 2 Update Targets Hardware Automation and Bind Exploits
The latest Counter-Strike 2 update detects hardware-assisted counter strafing on official servers, resulting in matches kicking offending players. The patch also ignores multi-action input binds by default and launches initial testing for VacNet 3.0.
Valve has released a new update for Counter-Strike 2 targeting movement automation and input scripting on official servers. Players using hardware-assisted counter strafing trigger automated kicks from matches.
Anti-Cheat and Movement Automation
Valve official servers now detect hardware-assisted counter strafing and other movement or shooting input automation, which results in an immediate kick from the match. Initial testing of VacNet 3.0 has also started on a limited set of matches. Players who believe their match was cancelled incorrectly can email match details to csgoteamfeedback@valvesoftware.com.
Input Binds and Audio
Input binds that include more than one restricted command are now ignored by default. Affected commands include sprint, reload, attack, attack2, turnleft, turnright, turnup, turndown, forward, back, left, right, moveup, movedown, klook, use, jump, duck, strafe, zoom, yaw, pitch, forwardback, and rightleft. Support for multi-input binds can be re-enabled using the cheat-protected convar cl_allow_multi_input_binds 1. Additionally, the jump-throw confirmation grunt sound is now audible to nearby players.
Why this patch matters
This update cracks down on input automation and multi-command binds while beginning early tests for VacNet 3.0 on official servers.
