Counter-Strike 2 Update Launches Premier Season Two and Adjusts Weapon Balance
Counter-Strike 2 kicks off Premier Season Two with rating recalibrations, map pool changes, weapon price tweaks, and bug fixes.
Valve has released a major update for Counter-Strike 2, launching Premier Season Two and introducing significant changes to the Active Duty map pool, weapon economics, and match tracking.
Premier Season Two and Map Pool
Premier matchmaking is live for Season Two. All participants from Season One receive a commemorative medal with detailed statistics. Player ratings are now reset, requiring 10 wins to re-establish a CS Rating. In the Active Duty map pool, Train replaces Vertigo.
Weapon and Economy Changes
The M4A4 price drops to $2,900. The FAMAS receives an accuracy buff and a price reduction to $1,950. Conversely, crouching accuracy decreases for the MP9, MP5-SD, and MP7. The AUG and SG scopes feature an adjusted dot for better long-range utility, and an exploit allowing players to use secondary fire on the R8 Revolver before selling it back has been fixed.
Interface and Server Updates
A new radar dynamic zoom option scales the map to include teammates, the bomb, and other elements. Spectator UI grenade order now matches weapon selection order, and carried C4 is brighter in the UI. Train has a removed boost angle from Long Dog to Bombsite A, and lighting artifacts on double-sided materials are resolved. Demo files now include fallback logic for incomplete files, and server log data tracks counter-strafe summaries.
Why this patch matters
Season Two resets the competitive ladder while reshaping rifle economics and introducing Train to the active rotation.
