Counter-Strike 2 Update Improves Hit Feedback and Map Geometry
Counter-Strike 2 update adjusts bullet hit feedback, fixes lag compensation hitbox issues during sprays, and updates geometry on Ancient, Office, and Nuke.
A new Counter-Strike 2 update arrives with adjustments to bullet hit feedback, netcode corrections for lag compensation, and geometry fixes across active-duty map pools.
Hit Feedback and Gameplay Fixes
The update adjusts bullet hit feedback and fixes a mid-spray lag compensation issue where target hitboxes could rewind further into the past than what appeared on screen. Jumping in place on sloped surfaces no longer causes sliding, and a bug allowing C4 to be defused from any height has been resolved. Armory Pass activation changes mean activating a pass no longer grants the first credit immediately, requiring all 40 credits to be earned through play and XP. Off-peak matchmaking adds more detailed statistics for players.
Animation and Movement Corrections
Inverse kinematics logic receives fixes to improve third-person feet posing on slopes. The update prevents legs and feet from popping out of position when exiting the bomb-plant animation and reduces animation-related network bandwidth consumption.
Map Adjustments
Ancient features reworked staircase collision at A-main for smoother movement, alongside the removal of a distracting tree shadow at A site. Collision adjustments on Ancient let players hug walls more closely, fixed a collision gap at the bottom of B ramp, and resolved lighting bugs and house geometry sticking spots. Office fixes geometry in the jumping corner, Nuke addresses lighting errors on lower graphics settings, and Anubis fixes a geometry gap.
Why this patch matters
This Counter-Strike 2 update tackles critical hit registration discrepancies, animation syncing issues, and map geometry exploits to improve competitive integrity.
