Counter-Strike 2 Update Fixes Rendering, UI, and Foliage Shaders
Counter-Strike 2 receives a new update addressing mixed resolution rendering resets, storage unit UI issues, and animated Steam avatar loading.
Valve released a new update for Counter-Strike 2 focused on resolving technical bugs, visual rendering issues, and stability improvements.
Rendering and Visual Fixes
The patch resolves a bug where mixed resolution rendering erroneously reset during map changes. Detail normal UV scaling and several biplanar mapping bugs are also fixed, alongside added support for nonuniform scale in biplanar mapping mode. Additionally, an option for applying albedo color correction to transmissive foliage textures is added, supported by adjustments to the foliage shader.
Interface and Storage Improvements
UI checkboxes no longer behave inconsistently when depositing or extracting large quantities of items into and from Storage Units. A regression affecting animated Steam avatars is also resolved, restoring animated loading.
System Warnings and Workshop Tools
Players launching the game under low system memory conditions or with limited pagefile size now receive a startup warning. A known crash when compiling lighting in the Counter-Strike 2 Workshop Tools is also fixed, alongside general stability improvements.
Why this patch matters
This maintenance patch cleans up lingering visual bugs, resolves storage unit UI frustration, and adds essential low-memory system warnings.
