Counter-Strike 2 Update Brings Damage Prediction and Train
Counter-Strike 2 adds client-side damage prediction, the Train map, and multiple bug fixes across various arenas.
Counter-Strike 2 receives an update featuring optional damage prediction, the inclusion of Train, and various map adjustments.
Damage Prediction
New damage prediction settings let clients play audio and visual damage effects immediately without waiting for server confirmation. Players can toggle predicted body shots, head shots, and kill ragdolls separately. This feature turns off automatically during high ping conditions.
Map Changes
Train joins Competitive, Casual, and Deathmatch modes. Basalt and Edin join Competitive, Casual, and Deathmatch, while Palais and Whistle arrive in Wingman. Thera, Mills, Assembly, and Memento leave all modes. Overpass receives visual updates, a heaven drop-down rework, and line-of-sight adjustments. Ancient, Italy, and Mirage receive targeted fixes for lighting, collisions, and pixel peeks.
Gameplay Tweaks
Third-person flashbang animations now reflect player visibility accurately. Legs animate correctly while taking damage, and first-person legs gain ambient occlusion. Molotov and incendiary effects receive performance optimizations, and grenade line-up reticle ticks add axis labels.
Why this patch matters
This update introduces damage prediction settings and adds Train to active game modes.
