Counter-Strike 2 Update Adjusts Tagging and Map Versions

Counter-Strike 2 adjusts damage tagging to reduce teleportation issues and updates Mills and Pool Day. The patch also fixes menu loading times and bomb plant bugs.

Counter-Strike 2 has received an update that adjusts damage tagging mechanics and incorporates community workshop revisions for Mills and Pool Day. The patch also addresses bugs related to bomb planting and revolver animations.

Combat and Tagging Adjustments

Damage tagging effects now feature a slight delay to reduce instances of players experiencing teleportation when taking damage. While this change creates a smoother movement experience, players have slightly more time to move at full speed when receiving damage. Servers can adjust this delay using the convar sv_predictable_damage_tag_ticks, which defaults to two ticks.

Map and Menu Improvements

Mills and Pool Day are updated to their latest versions from the Community Workshop. Initial loading times for the Settings and Play menus are reduced.

Bug Fixes

A bug allowing players to start the bomb plant animation outside of bomb sites is resolved. An issue causing the revolver barrel to rotate erroneously is also fixed.

Why this patch matters

The Counter-Strike 2 update makes meaningful combat adjustments by smoothing out damage tagging and fixing specific map and animation errors.
