Counter-Strike 2 Update Adjusts Inspect Animations and Damage Reports

The latest Counter-Strike 2 update matches first-person inspect animations to viewmodel settings, fixes smoke demo regressions, and adds a jump precision toggle.

Valve released a Counter-Strike 2 update focused on weapon inspection consistency, demo playback regressions, and custom server options.

Visuals and Animations

First-person inspect animations in the Inventory and Loadout now match in-game viewmodel settings and FOV. The update also fixes a regression involving smoke rendering from old demo files.

Gameplay and Modes

Damage reports now display correctly in Casual and Deathmatch game modes. A physics quirk described as floating off-world has also been addressed.

Custom Server Tools

Valve added the sv_jump_precision_enable console variable. This allows servers running custom game modes, such as surf, to opt out of recent jump precision improvements.

Why this patch matters

This update corrects minor visual regressions, fixes mode-specific UI elements, and gives custom server runners control over jump physics.
