Counter-Strike 2 Update Adds The Armory Pass, Charms, and Animation Fixes
Valve has launched The Armory update for Counter-Strike 2, introducing customizable weapon charms, new collections, and extensive character animation overhauls to fix leaning and sliding issues.
Counter-Strike 2 has received an update headlined by The Armory, an in-game store system that lets players earn credits toward weapon collections, stickers, and charms. Alongside the economic additions, the patch implements adjustments to character movement, audio bugs, and map geometry across the competitive pool.
The Armory and Economy
Players can purchase and activate an Armory Pass to earn credits through gameplay. These credits unlock items from three new weapon collections, two charm collections, two sticker collections, the Gallery Case, and the Heat Treated Desert Eagle. Charms are dynamic items that can be attached, positioned via drag-and-drop, and detached using a Charm Detachment item. All items acquired from the store, trade offers, and the Steam Community Market are subject to a seven-day trade and market restriction.
Inventory and Customization UI
Weapon case deletion has been removed from inventories. Applying new stickers includes a scrape level selector, while existing stickers feature a precise wear level selector and an immediate removal option. Nametag applications display a module preview directly on the item and fix a bug that unequipped weapons during customization. Stickers, patches, and charms can be previewed directly on a player's inventory items.
Character Posing and Animation
Movement animations for running, walking, and crouching have been re-authored to eliminate wide or scissor-like leg poses. The update fixes the leaning posture known as the MJ lean by altering foot pinning logic so it is no longer affected by server ping. Ladder behavior has been updated to ensure character heads accurately reflect player camera positions, and crouching or uncrouching while jumping no longer causes visual popping.
Audio and Network Fixes
Sound bugs have been resolved, including incorrect UI audio positioning and step sounds failing to broadcast to other players. Ragdoll water splash sounds no longer play on living players, and voice chat reliability has been improved on community servers. Network telemetry has gained a graph option for jitter and misdelivery, with misdelivery calculations updated to ignore out-of-order packets that do not impact gameplay.
Map Adjustments
Italy has been added to competitive matchmaking. Ancient receives fixes for disappearing geometry, pixel peeks, and player movement through water. Anubis features collision and clipping fixes for grenade throws. Dust2, Mirage, Nuke, and Overpass receive assorted clipping adjustments, C4 stuck spot fixes, and geometry corrections, while Overpass adds environmental shader features.
Why this patch matters
This update delivers improvements to character animations and network diagnostics alongside a storefront expansion.
