Counter-Strike 2 October 4 Update Adjusts Score Calculation and Fixes Recoil Angles
The October 4 update for Counter-Strike 2 excludes knife and utility damage from Casual, Competitive, and Wingman scores. The patch also resolves third-person weapon recoil angles and network jitter graph scaling.
Valve has deployed a minor update for Counter-Strike 2. The patch changes how scores are calculated across standard playlists and addresses several visual and network display errors.
Score Calculation Changes
Casual, Competitive, and Wingman matches no longer factor knife and utility damage into score calculations.
Visual and UI Fixes
Third-person weapon models now correctly incorporate recoil in their angles. Missing cascade shadows on specific community maps are restored, and extra models have been removed from the Armory weapon preview. Additionally, network jitter graphs now display a numerical scale in the upper right-hand corner, and shell casings no longer render as error models.
Why this patch matters
This update cleans up minor visual bugs and adjusts scoring metrics without altering core gunplay.
