Brawlhalla Back to School Update Tests Performance Fixes

Brawlhalla continues its Back to School event with a technical test on Steam to address graphical stutters. The update also details upcoming Skirmishes, UI overhauls, and damage number toggles.

Brawlhalla's Back to School event is active alongside a new technical test on Steam aimed at resolving graphical stutters. Developers also previewed upcoming features including Faction-based Skirmishes, an interface refresh, and damage number displays.

Game Performance and Steam Tech Test

Developers are testing a fix for reported graphical stutters on Steam via an opt-in branch. Players can access this by right-clicking Brawlhalla in Steam, navigating to Properties and Betas, and selecting tech-test - Testing new engine tech. Users can also enter -framefix -setfps [monitor hz] in the General launch options field.

Upcoming Skirmishes and Events

Skirmishes are limited-time events launching in October that group players into preference-themed Factions. Participants earn Influence for their team by playing standard matches and bonus Influence by playing Ranked against opposing Factions. The winning Faction receives special titles and avatars. Meanwhile, the Back to School event continues with returning Legend skins, Cheer Captain Brynn, Victor items, and school-themed emojis.

UI Overhaul and Damage Numbers

A preview revealed an upcoming major UI overhaul matching the game's recent branding changes. The refresh updates Legend select splash arts, the top right player menu, fonts, and buttons. Additionally, an opt-in damage numbers display is coming to let players toggle on a view showing how much damage their Legend has taken.
