Big Walk Update 1.6.0 Improves Networking and Adds Settings

Big Walk version 1.6.0 updates join codes to use letters and numbers, fixes networking issues, and adds first-person arm movement and echo cancellation settings.

Version 1.6.0 of Big Walk focuses on connectivity stability, quality-of-life adjustments for multiplayer sessions, and technical fixes across multiple platforms.

Networking and Join Codes

Join codes now incorporate both letters and numbers. The update addresses multiple rare networking errors that could prevent proper connections and improves related error and warning messages. A fix prevents modded clients from performing actions that disrupt other players on a server.

New Settings and Controls

Players can now adjust a new First Person Arm Movement setting. Windows and Mac users gain access to an Echo Cancellation setting, and unrecognized gamepads now display fallback button prompt glyphs.

Bug Fixes and Environment Adjustments

On Windows, a potential crash involving Smart App Control is resolved, and corrupted saves rely on backup saves in more scenarios. The night sky's stars are reoriented to match the real-life southern hemisphere sky, map landmarks receive corrected colors, and kicking a player clears any text they wrote during the session.

Why this patch matters

Version 1.6.0 provides fixes for connection reliability, save recovery, and cross-platform control consistency.
