BeamNG.drive Version 0.35 Remasters Hirochi Sunburst and Adds Rally Tech
BeamNG.drive version 0.35 introduces the remastered Hirochi Sunburst, anti-lag systems, an active center differential, and faster loading speeds.
BeamNG.drive kicks off its 2025 update schedule with version 0.35, delivering a complete overhaul of the Hirochi Sunburst, advanced rally systems, and major performance optimizations.
The Hirochi Sunburst Remaster
The community-requested Hirochi Sunburst receives a complete overhaul featuring a Flat-4 drivetrain, factory and custom configurations, and a new wagon body style. The vehicle model includes higher detail, updated textures, new interior customization options, and custom body kits and liveries. Alongside the Sunburst, various other vehicles receive minor suspension tweaks, material upgrades, and handling adjustments.
New Rally Systems and Vehicle Physics
Version 0.35 introduces two complex systems tailored for competitive rally driving. The air bypass anti-lag system maintains target turbocharger RPM by using delayed exhaust manifold combustion and an intake bypass valve, operating via an automatic arm and disarm logic. The active center differential continuously adjusts behavior using real-time sensor data and internal maps, allowing features like automatic rear-axle disengagement during handbrake turns and progressive locking for added grip.
Level Upgrades and Freeroam Additions
The West Coast map features updated drag strip and dirt track areas alongside a brand-new drift track and optimized city collisions. Hirochi Raceway adds a new drag strip area, and map foliage libraries have been refreshed. Freeroam drift content expands with seven new zones across Italy, Utah, and Automation, supported by new drift UI apps, a tiered scoring system, and a combo soft cap at 10x with a hard cap at 25x. Two new missions, Strut Brace Loop and Garage Gauntlet, are also available.
Performance and Interface Improvements
Vehicle loading times are substantially faster thanks to a transition to an optimized .cdae file format utilizing cached data and compression. The user interface gains a brand-new, gamepad-friendly Radial Menu built from the ground up to replace the legacy system. Modders gain access to an experimental Building Architect Tool for procedural building generation in the World Editor, alongside updates to the Biome Tool and JBeam workflows.
Why this patch matters
Version 0.35 elevates BeamNG.drive's technical depth with sophisticated rally hardware, a long-awaited vehicle remaster, and vital loading optimizations.
