Baldur's Gate 3 Hotfix 28 Fixes Mod Loops and Trade Exploits
Hotfix 28 for Baldur's Gate 3 resolves multiplayer mod verification loops, fixes trade exploits involving bound weapons, and addresses platform-specific console bugs.
Larian Studios has released Hotfix 28 for Baldur's Gate 3 across all platforms, targeting crash vectors, mod manager issues, and specific gameplay exploits.
Mod Management and Multiplayer Fixes
Console and PC mod managers receive several reliability fixes. On PS5, the Continue button now respects mod status identically to the Load Game screen, and the Mod Verification Window no longer traps players in endless re-download prompts. A multiplayer bug where clients got caught in enable-disable loops when a host lacked a specific mod has also been resolved.
Gameplay and Exploit Fixes
An exploit allowing players to add un-sellable items like pact weapons to wares by selecting them alongside valid items has been closed. Honour Mode features such as Legendary Actions no longer persist incorrectly into non-Honour-Mode save files. Additionally, loading times are improved for players with large mod libraries.
Crashes and UI Adjustments
The hotfix addresses multiple game-loading crashes, corrects character model offsets in the Trade UI when using a controller, and stops the PS5 DualSense lightbar from updating colours every single frame.
Why this patch matters
Hotfix 28 is a maintenance update that clears up frustrating mod loops, stops inventory exploits, and stabilizes multiplayer sessions.
