Baldur's Gate 3 Hotfix 27 Overhauls Mod Manager UI and Fixes Crashes

Larian Studios has released Hotfix 27 for Baldur's Gate 3 alongside Patch 7's console rollout. The update fixes multiple crashes, addresses mod management interface bugs, and resolves inventory duplication errors.

Larian Studios has deployed Hotfix 27 across all platforms for Baldur's Gate 3. This update arrives alongside the console and Mac release of Patch 7, targeting persistent mod manager interface quirks, specific crash triggers, and gameplay bugs like broken ladder pathfinding.

Mod Manager Interface Fixes

The update resolves several layout and functional bugs in the Mod Manager. The Trending filter now displays correct items, and the Uninstall button functions reliably on the Mod Details page. Memory Used counters now show actual consumption instead of individual mod file sizes. Additionally, the Mod Issues window is wider, scrollbars no longer jump to the top unexpectedly after removing a mod, and controller navigation issues have been smoothed out.

Crash and Soft-Blocker Repairs

Several game-stopping bugs are fixed in this patch. Players can no longer fall beneath the elevator in the Mind Flayer Colony and remain permanently stuck; characters slipping through the gap now die and convert into Soul Echoes. The update also patches crashes tied to missing equipment on custom modded classes, returning to the main menu from multiplayer lobbies, and deleting visual textures.

Gameplay and Inventory Adjustments

Characters who forgot how to use ladders have learned the skill again. Sending a container with stackable items to a companion who already holds identical items no longer deletes inventory goods, and destroyed containers now spill their contents properly instead of deleting them. BOOOAL is visible when combat starts, and Custom Mode settings are now accessible when selecting the mode via multiplayer lobbies.

Cinematic and Text Fixes

Awkward positioning in evil ending cinematics has been corrected. Wyll no longer hovers over an invisible throne, Karlach's teeth no longer bare unnaturally during the Dark Urge finale, and His Majesty the cat appears correctly without camera bugs. The Shattered Flail text description now explicitly states that it does not trigger other healing-reaction passives.

Why this patch matters

Hotfix 27 is primarily a clean-up patch that polishes the massive Patch 7 release. It directly targets interface frustrations in the new mod tools and eliminates specific crash risks for both vanilla and modded playthroughs.
