Avowed Patch 1.2.4 Resolves Quest Blockers and Adjusts Autosaves

The latest Avowed update fixes critical quest progressions, adjusts autosave intervals and slot limits, and disables DirectX 11 launch parameters.

Obsidian Entertainment has released patch 1.2.4 for Avowed. The update addresses quest blockers, companion behaviors, store inventories, and autosave defaults.

Quest and Progression Fixes

Unkillable characters now respawn if they die unexpectedly, preventing blocked quest lines. Missing loot piles from distant kills return to the owner's death location. In The Siege of Paradis, players who killed Kostya and destroyed Solace Keep can now retrigger conversations with Living Lands leaders by walking in and out of the meeting space. Bounty Masters across Dawnshore, Shatterscarp, and Galawain's Tusks now accept bounties even if players hold excess trophies. Vemas correctly accepts the Debt of Blood turn-in, An Untimely End no longer leaves players with zero active objectives, and Ambassador Hylgard can no longer drown in The Strangleroot while following the player. Finishing Ancient Soil is no longer blocked if Fior mes Iverno becomes inaccessible.

Gameplay and Economy Adjustments

Godless chests and sarcophagi now contain currency in their loot lists. Upgrade materials like metal, wood, and leather are now more consistently available across regional stores and refresh properly when store stock updates. Autosave frequency defaults to 10 minutes instead of 5, and the total autosave slot count increases from 3 to 5. The Bleeding Cuts ability applies Bleed Accumulation more reliably, Kai teleports into walls less often during Leap of Daring, and companions assist in combat more consistently.

Interface and Technical Changes

Companion abilities assigned to the Quick Slot menu no longer unbind after reloading saves. Controller users gain new settings for gamepad look acceleration strength and ramp-up time. Logging into Xbox Network on Steam no longer resets the selected language. Additionally, launching the game with DirectX 11 is now disabled because the unsupported parameter causes troubleshooting issues and unresolvable performance bugs.

Why this patch matters

This patch delivers essential fixes for broken quests and missing items while expanding autosave limits and cleaning up store inventories.
