At Fate's End Demo Hotfix 1.1 Out Now

The latest hotfix for the At Fate's End demo adds controller support, fixes a softlock during the Camilla duel, and addresses numerous UI bugs.

Developer Team At Fate's End released Hotfix 1.1 for the Steam demo, bringing build version 0.1.4860 to players. This update introduces controller compatibility, addresses critical crash bugs, and fixes combat hitboxes.

Hardware and Input Changes

Support for PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Pro Controllers is now live, and correct icons display during gameplay. Widescreen and 16:10 resolution support is temporarily disabled due to lack of full optimization, resulting in black placeholder bars on the sides of widescreen monitors. Additionally, unplugging an input device no longer dismisses tutorial windows, and the Shift key icon has been updated to look distinct from the Up arrow key.

Combat and Exploration Fixes

Shan no longer takes damage while drawing or sheathing her sword. Several combat hitbox issues are fixed, including an error where Shan's Charged Attack was inaccurate, and an issue where attacks automatically aimed upward after landing. In the Brecht Forest, the farmer has moved to a new house deeper in the woods, and Shan's jumping animation near Maury's campfire now plays correctly.

Boss Fight and Stability Fixes

A potential crash during the Camilla duel is resolved, and Camilla no longer stays stuck flashing invulnerability during conversation transitions. Previously chosen dialogue options now correctly persist if the player dies and retries the Camilla duel. Combat can no longer be triggered while Shan is getting up after a respawn, which previously caused a softlock.

UI and Settings Adjustments

Players can now mute voice audio when choosing dialogue responses. An opt-in pop-up now asks for analytics consent on the first launch, which can be altered in the options menu at any time. Combat encounters now display in red text if the enemy is a higher level than Shan.

Why this patch matters

Hotfix 1.1 resolves major softlocks and input bugs in the At Fate's End demo while laying groundwork for proper controller integration.
