Aion 2 Scheduled Maintenance Prepares for Commercial Launch

Aion 2 takes servers offline for eight hours to end the advanced access period and begin commercial launch. The patch also slashes character deletion wait times and adjusts boss stats for five-player parties.

Game servers for Aion 2 go down for an eight-hour maintenance window on October 4 at 22:00 PDT, or October 5 at 07:00 CEST. This downtime marks the end of the advanced access period and kicks off the game's commercial launch.

Character Deletion and Account Adjustments

The requirements for deleting a character undergo major changes. The waiting period drops from 168 hours down to 24 hours, and the minimum required level for deletion moves from Level 10 to Level 1. Furthermore, the idle timer before kicking players to the server selection screen extends from 30 minutes to 3 hours, and in-game announcement durations increase from 3 seconds to 10 seconds.

Quest Progression and Boss Tuning

Quest object interactions run smoother now because certain objects no longer disappear and others feature shorter respawn times. Boss stats receive adjustments after reports showed them running too low for standard five-player party difficulty. Additionally, players stuck in Poeta or Ishalgen Hero Quests get a new Quest Tracker button to teleport directly to Verteron or Altgard.

Bug Fixes and Journal Fixes

A bug fix addresses an issue where approaching other players during Auto Move caused characters to snap back to previous positions. The update also resolves a duplicate Content menu entry in key settings and corrects the Vanguard of Atreia title translation. Players encountering the Journal Duty content bug who checked the Duty tab before Level 45 must wait until the following day after hitting Level 45 to access it.

Why this patch matters

This maintenance bridges the gap into commercial launch while delivering quality-of-life adjustments that make character management and early-game questing far less punishing.
