Acts of Blood Demo Patch v.0.8.7 Adds Skill Trees, Combos, and Progression
Acts of Blood demo update v.0.8.7 introduces level progression, skill trees, new combos, photo mode, and extensive combat refinements.
The latest demo update for Acts of Blood delivers foundational progression systems alongside combat additions and polish. Version 0.8.7 introduces a skill tree, level XP progression, complex combo attack movesets, and a photo mode while overhauling animation and damage detection.
Progression and New Features
Players can now utilize a new level XP progression system and unlock abilities via the skill tree. The update adds eight new combo attack movesets executed through specific button combinations, sliding attacks performed by holding the kick button while sprinting, and four new counter animations. Additional additions include a photo mode, a new outfit set, enemy hair, and new enemy taunting voiceovers and foley sounds.
Combat and Animation Improvements
Fight animations receive extensive tuning with improved motion warping, refined player camera movement, and better transitions between fight stances and idle animations. Base combo timing, ragdoll physics, and sphere-trace damage detection are also upgraded. The jump kick animation is replaced by a new flying kick, weapon models are updated, and the dodge button is reassigned to Space on keyboards and LT on controllers.
Bug Fixes and Environment Polish
Arena mode now functions properly by adding a delay to enemy spawns to prevent the multiple attack token bug. Enemy counters and player responses stay synchronized, and strafing enemies maintain correct distances. Environment improvements update layout and lighting in the factory prison arena, ensure tables break when hit by bodies, and fix post-vault action locks.
Why this patch matters
Version 0.8.7 transforms the Acts of Blood demo from a basic vertical slice into a feature-complete taste of the brawler's progression and combat depth.
